Privacy policy

1. Who we are

Learn The Pitch is an independent website operated by Rimal Labs LLC. It publishes two free daily football puzzles, Daily Player and Build My Press.

2. Information we collect

We collect a small amount of data to run the site:

• Anonymous site analytics (page views, referrers, general device type) via Plausible Analytics.
• Daily Player rounds, results and stats, kept in one signed first-party cookie (ltp_dp) so they survive a refresh and cannot be reset or changed from the page. It holds your guesses and daily results, is only used to run the game, and expires after about 13 months. Your browser sends your guesses to our server to check them; we keep no other copy.
• Build My Press progress and display settings, stored locally in your browser (localStorage). Clearing your browsing data removes them.
• Challenge links. A Daily Player challenge link contains your result and the optional display name you enter, encrypted so only our server can read it. A Build My Press challenge link contains the board you built. Anyone you send a link to can open it.
• Anonymous game events, such as a puzzle being started, finished or shared, with the number of guesses. They never include the names you guess.
• Standard server and hosting logs, including IP addresses and request timestamps, retained for security purposes.

We do not sell personal data. We do not build advertising profiles using personal data we collect directly.

3. Analytics — Plausible

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies, does not track visitors across sites, and does not collect personal identifiers. Aggregate traffic data is used only to understand which content is most useful to readers.

4. Advertising — Google AdSense

Learn The Pitch may display advertisements served by Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-7298658495775288). Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to:

• Serve relevant ads based on your browsing activity
• Measure ad performance
• Personalise advertising experiences

5. Consent — EEA, UK, and Switzerland

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may see a consent prompt before personalised ads or cookies are activated. This is managed through a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP). You can withdraw or adjust consent at any time via the consent preferences link in our footer.

6. Email

The puzzles do not ask for an email address or an account. If you email us, we use your address only to reply.

7. Data retention

• Analytics data: retained according to Plausible's default settings (no personally identifiable data stored).
• Daily Player cookie: about 13 months from your last play, or until you delete this site's cookies.
• Browser-stored data (Build My Press progress, settings): stored on your device until you clear your browser data.
• Daily Player challenge links stop working seven days after they are created.

8. Children

Learn The Pitch is a general-audience puzzle website. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us at hello@learnthepitch.com and we will delete it promptly.

9. External links

Learn The Pitch may link to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy as our services change. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent update. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
